Skeypr Privacy Policy

Skeypr is a planner, journal and outreach tool that runs on your iPhone. This policy explains, plainly, what stays on your device, what leaves it, and who else can see it.
The Skeypr app has no user accounts. You are identified by a username you choose, stored on your phone. The app does not ask for your name, email address or phone number, and we have no database of app users to look you up in.
The one exception is this website: if you join the waitlist, you give us an email address on purpose. That is covered in "The Skeypr website" below, and it is never connected to anything the app holds.
What stays on your device, always
None of the following is uploaded anywhere. It lives in your iPhone's app storage (and in the iOS Keychain, where it is encrypted by the system):
Your calendar events, reminders, habits and goals
Your journal and voice notes ("Ramble"), and their transcripts
Notes and file attachments you add to an hour of your day
Your contact lists and outreach history, including call and text logs you record in the app
Your username, settings and consent choices
The Vault, which is additionally protected by Face ID
Skeypr never reads through your iPhone's Contacts. Contacts in Skeypr are ones you typed in, imported from a file you chose, or added one at a time through Apple's own contact picker — a screen drawn by iOS, where the app receives only the single person you tap and never sees the rest of the address book. You can also save a Skeypr contact out to your iPhone contacts; that writes, it does not read.
Skeypr cannot send messages or email on your behalf. Where the app helps you write something, it drafts it and hands it to you; you send it yourself from your own Messages or Mail app.
If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it. We cannot recover it, because we never had it.
What leaves your device
Almost nothing, and every one of these is off until you turn it on.
Weather on your calendar (off by default)
If you turn weather on, Skeypr sends coarse coordinates — rounded to roughly a kilometre — and nothing else to Open-Meteo, a free weather service. No identifier, no account, no other data. Forecasts are cached on your phone, and turning weather off deletes the cache.
Skeypr reads your location only while the app is open, only to ask for that forecast, and keeps no location history. It never tracks where you go.
Calendar feeds you subscribe to (off by default)
If you add a calendar feed — a Canvas coursework feed, a shared Google or Outlook calendar, any .ics link — Skeypr fetches that URL, from your own provider, directly. There is no Skeypr server in the middle and no login, OAuth or password: the link itself is the credential, which is why it is kept in your phone's storage and never logged or sent anywhere. The calendar it returns is parsed on your device and the events are stored like anything else you typed. Skeypr refreshes a feed roughly every six hours while you use the app, and removing the feed stops that. Your provider sees the request and the IP address it came from, the same as if you opened the link in a browser.
What Skeypr does NOT do
To be concrete, because other planners do these things and this one does not:
No account. There is nothing to sign up for and no server that knows you.
No cloud AI. Nothing you write or say is sent to a model provider.
No advertising, no analytics, no tracking SDKs, and no data sold or shared with anyone for any purpose.
No background tracking. Skeypr does not follow your movement, infer your commute, or fill your calendar from sensors. Your calendar contains what you put in it.
No reading through your iPhone Contacts, email or messages. The contact picker hands the app one person you tapped; nothing else is visible to it.
Voice notes are transcribed on your device. The transcription model is downloaded once (about 75 MB) from Hugging Face, a model-hosting service — like any download, their servers see the request and the IP it came from. Your audio and your words are not part of that request; it is just a file download. Your audio never leaves your phone.
Skeypr cannot send messages or email on your behalf. Where the app helps you write something, it drafts it and hands it to you; you send it yourself from your own Messages or Mail app.
The Skeypr website
If you enter your email address in the waitlist form at skeypr.com, we store that email address, the date and time you submitted it, and the fact that it came from skeypr.com. Nothing else — we do not ask for your name, and the form sets no advertising or analytics cookies.
We use it for one thing: to email you about Skeypr becoming available, including beta invitations. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone else for their own use. Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time at the address below — we will remove it from the list entirely.
The list is stored in Google Cloud Firestore. It is completely separate from the app: the app never sends us an email address, so nothing on the waitlist can be matched to anything in the first section of this policy.
Who else is involved
Open-Meteo — weather, if you enable it.
Hugging Face — hosts the transcription model file you download once.
Whoever hosts a calendar feed you add (Canvas, Google, Outlook, or any other .ics host) — only if you add one, and only that URL.
Google Cloud (Firestore) — stores the website waitlist email list. This is the website only; the app never talks to it.
Apple — distributes the app and reports crash and usage information to us in aggregate.
Skeypr runs no server of its own. There is no Skeypr account, and no Skeypr database that contains anything you write.
Skeypr contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking software. We do not sell or share your information, because in almost every case we do not have it.

Your choices
Turn weather off — Settings. The cached forecasts are deleted with it, and Skeypr stops reading your location entirely.
Delete everything — remove the app. Everything in the first section goes with it, because it only ever lived there.
Ask us to delete anything we hold — email the address below. For the app that is nothing; for the website it is your waitlist email address.
Children
Skeypr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and the app will tell you.
